Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Staff Accountant to join a dynamic Accounting team. This role supports day-to-day accounting operations and financial reporting in a fast-paced environment and requires strong analytical skills, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities. The ideal candidate enjoys cross-functional collaboration and takes pride in accuracy and process improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare daily sales summary and revenue journal entries
  • Record daily revenue and statistical entries from operating and payment systems
  • Prepare and distribute Daily Business Reports to management
  • Monitor and respond to billing inquiries and internal accounting requests
  • Prepare journal entries related to food & beverage comps and gift certificates
  • Review house and event accounts and follow up on outstanding balances
  • Retrieve and review receipts and supporting documentation to assist with billing investigations
  • Assist in resolving guest and client billing questions or disputes
  • Reconcile activity from third-party platforms (e.g., online booking and payment providers)
  • Collaborate with front-office, operations, and management teams on account-related matters
  • Participate in accounting meetings and contribute financial insights as needed
  • Support ad hoc accounting projects and broader finance initiatives

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
  • Minimum 2+ years of accounting experience (hospitality or service-based industry experience preferred)
  • Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, functions)
  • Experience with accounting and POS systems preferred (Restaurant365, Micros POS, Opera, Stripe, etc.)
  • Power BI experience is a plus
